PTA

Andrews Christian School's PTA is an active organization of parents and staff.  The mission of the PTA is to provide support to the school in whatever capacity is needed.  Listed below are some of the PTA's activities for the 2004-2005 school year.

  SCHOOL AUCTION

The PTA sponsored a school auction on Thursday, March 3.  The event began at 6:00 with the serving of a barbecue sandwich supper.   ACS students  provided musical entertainment at 6:45, and the auction began at 7:00.  Some of the items  auctioned included a weekend at Litchfield Inn, hunting and fishing trips, rocking chairs, beauty baskets, Easter baskets, dinners out at local restaurants, and much more! 

FALL FESTIVAL

Andrews Christian School's annual Fall Festival was held on Thursday, October 20, 2005.  Attendance was excellent, and everyone enjoyed events such as pony rides, games, jumping castle, hayrides, general store, and other vendors.  As always, the food, fun, and fellowship were wonderful, and we look forward to Fall Festival '06!

SALLY FOSTER GIFT WRAP SALES

The Sally Foster Gift Wrap sales program has traditionally been a successful fundraiser for ACS.  Andrews Christian School's 2005 Sally Foster sales exceeded $20,000.00   Many, many thanks to everyone who worked to reach this goal!  

CANDY SALES

The candy fundraiser wrapped up in March 2005 with prizes distributed to all students who participated.  The Nestle-Beich company provided a prize wheel for the students who sold two or more boxes.  The students had fun, left with great prizes, and have the knowledge that they have helped their school! 

"HANDS ON COOKING WITH ACS"  COOKBOOKS

Andrews Christian School's first cookbook sale was a success!  We sold 500 copies of "Hands on Cooking" and have had tremendous positive response on this project. 

TEACHER SOCIALS

The PTA provides monthly teacher socials for the Andrews Christian School staff.  Each class is responsible for providing light snacks after school one time each year.  The teachers and staff appreciate the gesture, and the PTA certainly appreciates all their hard work!

TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION

During the school year, the PTA remembers the staff with small mementos on holidays.  At Christmas, a breakfast of biscuit and juice is given to each staff member.  During Teacher Appreciation Week in May, the staff is treated to dinner at a local restaurant, while parents volunteer to substitute in the classrooms. 

PTA CANTEEN

PTA volunteers provide the drinks and snacks for school-wide canteen one Friday per month.  This event raises approximately $100 each month.
